Fall Skin Care Edit

Fall is officially here, and the drop in temperature that forces us to bring out our comfy sweaters and darker polish, also impacts our skin barrier. Our skin, being the first defense between our bodies and the environment, certainly feel the effects of Fall as it gets drier, dull, and in some cases itchier. Hydration is the name of the game when switching out your products for this next season, and ingredients like Glycerin, Hyaluronic acid, and Niacinamide will ensure your skin barrier stays plump and moisturized. Some suggest officially reaching for more moisturized products once the weather gets gold enough to see your breath, but we say, as soon as you begin reaching for those sweaters, and you begin reaching for more hot drinks—its time. Here are our favorite skin care essentials for fall, that’ll keep your skin as dewy and supple as it was during Summer.

Glow Recipe Papaya Enzyme Cleansing Balm

$32

If you’re looking to enhance your skin care regimen, look no further than double cleansing. Most of us double cleanse anyway when we’re removing makeup before we actually wash our faces, but others—specifically those who follow Korean Skincare methods, double cleanse every night regardless if you’ve worn makeup. This cleansing balm by Glow Recipe is the perfect first step because it contains papaya which naturally resurfaces and brightens skin. Cleansing balms are meant to be used on dry skin, and followed immediately by water-based cleansers.

Drunk Elephant Beste No.9 Jelly Cleanser $32

Drunk Elephant is one of our favorite brands, and their jelly cleanser is great for those looking for a straight-to-the-point face wash. There are no sensitizing products, and your face won’t be stripped of its oils, or have that tight feeling after you’re done washing. It’s tough enough to remove makeup, sunscreen, and other residue, leaving your skin clean and soft.

Hanskin Hyaluron Skin Essence $25

If you follow Korean Skincare you know that their skin regimens are long, and essences play an integral part of the process. Used after toning and before serums, essences are supposed to help your skin retain moisture and properly prepare your skin for serums and acids. Hanskin’s Hyaluron Skin Essence is a favorite of Soko Glam founder Charlotte Cho, and one of the most plumping skin care products I’ve ever used. Skin drinks this essence up instantly, and you’ll wonder why you hadn’t known about this sooner.
