The Only Facial Oils You'll Ever Need

IMG_9614.JPG

So, we hear some of y’all still aren’t hip to the blessings that are facial oils. We're not gonna judge, but we just don’t understand what you’ve been waiting for! Yes, the market is saturated, and every brand boasts about a facial oil that they carry. But the truth is, most of them you need not pay attention too. The great thing about facial oils is that they moisturize and hydrate your skin, in a way that’s certainly more luxurious than regular moisturizer. But due to their lightweight structure, they also serve as makeup primers, and can be laid on top of moisturizers for a bit of extra hydration when needed. Once upon a time there was a myth that existed, that facial oils can lead to breakouts, or make oily skin even more oily—but we’re happy to tell out that’s false! So long as you’re using a great benefiting oil that omits fragrances, mineral oils, and essential oils, you should have favorable results. And with oils it’s a little easier to get maximum hydration, with little product. The list of oils we’ve rounded up are good for ALL skin types, and promote glowing, nourished, and youthful skin.

Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Oil $40

Drunk Elephant is one of our favorite brands. Partly because their products just actually effin’ work, but mostly because you can actually trust that there’s no skin sensitizing ingredients in their line. This brand of Marula is definitely on the pricier side, but that’s due to Drunk Elephants extraction process of the oil, which makes for the purest form of the oil there is. It isn’t heavy, and sinks immediately into the skin. Your skin will look brighter and plumper, in only a few uses.

Trilogy Rosehip Oil Antioxidant +, $44

This pretty girl has been a long time favorite of our founder’s, and now we see why. Not only is Rosehip oil amazing for treating hyperpigmentation, but the antioxidant formula also protects against environmental damage. It’s a perfect everyday oil.

ACURE Soothing Blue Tansy Night Oil, $13

There are a few Blue Tansy oils on the market—one specifically by a brand we also adore— but ACURE’s price point and effectiveness makes it the clear winner. The formula smells beautiful, calms irritation and redness, and provides deep hydration. We prefer to layer it on top of our moisturizer, as the last step in our nightly routine.

Youth to the People Superberry Hydrate + Glow Oil, $44

Last but not least, this superfood oil is perfect for a summer day. It contains Maqui and Prickly Pear extracts, which fight free radicals and combat hyperpigmentation. We adore it as a makeup primer, or pressing it into your face post moisturizer, for a dewy bare faced glow.
